With reference to the Colonial Secretary's

letter dated April 21st in 0.8.0. No. 9303/07 of which you

allowed me the perusal, I note that "the post of Secretary of

the Sanitary Board is not being abolished".

With great respect I venture to submit the

following two questions for the consideration of His Excellency

the Governor.

(1).

Does not the limitation of duties accompani

-ed by a reduction of salary constitute "abolition" ?

(2).

If the post is not being abolished, do not

the conditions on which I have been serving, entitle me in the

absence of any default on my part, to continue in my position

without loss of salary ?

Before any further action is taken with

reference to my appointment I respectfully hope that His Excel-

-lency will give consideration to the above questions and I

would request that in so doing he will lay them before the

Attorney-General, who perhaps would accord me an interview be-

-fore putting his opinion on record.
